LIFE ON LAND POST 1

Defining sustainable development: meeting economic, environmental and social need

for the present generation without compromising the needs of future generations.

The pillars of development rest on three pillars: the economy

The primary focus is on society, which defines its quality

(industrial - agricultural - pastoral). In order to achieve economic growth and increase human income, it is necessary to rely on the environmental resources in which he lives to benefit. Hence, the Kingdom’s vision 2030 was launched to benefit from natural resources in a moderate manner to provide a decent life for the individual and sustainability for future generations, such as not relying on oil energy resources as primary sources that the state resorts to for renewable energy. as other alternatives.

Society: The people of society are the ones who put the economy and the society's success in development and growth and meet the basic needs of the individual such as education, health and housing, and this is what the Kingdom has done to achieve this. A comprehensive environment for all aspects of life. The economic growth that the Kingdom is witnessing is reflected in the people, their well-being and their development, and this economic growth is the result of the moderate use of society’s resources.

Environment: The general framework that includes the behavior of individuals and their economic activities and the development and development of environmental life while preserving the environment from pollution and preserving its resources to achieve sustainable development for future generations An example of this is what the Kingdom has done in order to preserve wildlife, setting up reserves and preventing hunting, such as the ibex reserve in the central region to preserve environmental and animal resources from extinction.

An example of sustainable development: Combating desertification: Desertification is a high phenomenon that Saudi lands are exposed to due to climatic changes, lack of rain and lack of plants. The Ministry of Agriculture has developed plans to stop the deterioration of vegetation cover and achieve sustainable development.

 1- Preventing cutting of trees.

2- The initiative to plant trees to improve the climate and environment under the slogan (one tree for each building).

3- Developing guard systems in forests and pastoralists under the name (Environmental Security) .

4- Establishing reserves such as Rawdat Khuraim by reducing the rate of environmental extinction .

5- Expansion of Green spaces to reduce desertification.
